I support efforts to reduce market volatility and radical swings in prices for equities. To protect the value of portfolios people are holding for retirement I support the reinstitution of the short sale tick rule and the reinstitution of circuit breakers.
Short sellers should no longer be able to drive down the prices of equities to close to zero, and then cover their positions and walk away with profits while the shareholders who purchased these securities for investment purposes see their investments evaporate.
