please reinstate the uptick rule and whatever other considerations are needed to ensure investors have some degree of security in purchasing/selling equities when there is obviously so much manipulation and deceit surrounding everything that happens with money management (stocks, housing, loans, credit cards, etc.). it is hard enough to invest for one's retirement, college funds, etc. with all that legitimately happens in the world (oil prices, wars, labor markets). if american stock markets appear crooked and out to get the little guy/gal, the entire world will seek and no doubt invent, a better system. rape and pillage is never a model to emulate when the whole world is watching
