I am bewildered why the SEC doesn't re-institute the short sale up-tick rule. Regardless of whether it would cause a need for changing computer programs, it would likely help end the free fall and stabilize the bottom end of the market. Why continue to make it easy for short sellers to take advantage of this and sell short? Even Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has suggested this. What gives?
