I believe the uptick rule should be reinstated to help prevent institutions from raiding stocks. I do believe in short selling and believe it can ad to a balanced market but the damage done from removing the uptick rule has allowed some traders to create panic and drive down stocks relentlessly. The practice of naked short selling also has to be stopped.
