I think that investing in the stock market should return to the philosophy for which it was designed i.e. obtaining part ownership (long-term)of a company that you would like to see succeed. An investment should be hoped to earn you a reward based on the success of the company that you select, NOT based upon it's failure. Also I think that Short Selling opens the door to potential manipulation of the market by "talking heads" and other opinion leader. I think that short selling should be prohibited just like any other form of gambling. This country needs to return to the work ethic of the past, and not the something for nothing philosophy that has gotten us into our present problems.
