I may be naive, but I believe companies are something to invest in rather than to bet against. In that respect, unchecked short selling can be destructive to companies balance sheets and investors.
I believe the SEC should do everthing in its power to promote fair markets. Please reinstate the "Uptick Rule" implemented in the 1930's. I believe the reinstatement will promote fair markets by balancing the interests of short sellers with the interests of market investors.
