The uptick rule protected small investors since 1938. With the computer systems the uptick rule should not be a big problem. The only people interested in not having an uptick rule are the hedge funds and other big investors who wish to push a stock price down for a short sale.
I took a beating on my stocks due to the shorting of stocks without the uptick rule.
Don't be pushed around by the hedge funds.
