Reinstatement of the "uptick rule" would be most welcomed. Preferably, a stricter rule will be approved, in view of the sharp spiralling sell-off in most all of the financial stocks and many other stocks that occurred last year. This does not prevent short selling, but it certainly makes sense to curtail abusive short selling practices, which can only hurt the public.
