I write to enthusiastically support the Uptick Rule, and request that it be reinstated as soon as possible.
There can be little doubt that unregulated shorts, and naked short selling, contributed significantly to the depth, and speed of the 2008 market collapse.
Please take the necessary, prudent steps to restore market stability by curtailing naked shorts and reinstating the Uptick Rule.
