I am a medium-size investor who has been damaged by elimination of the uptick rule. I have tried to benefit along with those who seem to have harvested large profits by agressively shorting after the rule was removed, but now see that my investments in Ultra-short offerings did not match the change in the markets, further damaging me.

I feel the SEC made a mistake in 2007. We all do. I strongly support a simple and clean reversal of that decision. All the alternate schemes being proposed fail to be something this investor trusts. Frankly, they smell of input from the special interests who have already walked with lots of my money.
