As an individual investor trying to manage my wealth with limited resources, I depend on the SEC to make decisions that will level the playing field. It is highly unlikely that I will short a stock or hedge my investments, and most likely will never have the funds to meet the initial investment to invest in a hedge fund. I invest in the hopes that the market goes up.
