This is a small but important step to attempt to get shareholders of large companies to take responsibility for the excessive pay given to those whom they've put in charge of running the company - often running it into the ground at everyone's expense but their own.

It would be far better to put a cap on the CEO's salaries, or at least raise the salaries of the workers to a level commensurate with that of the CEO's. Of course, setting the salary of the CEO commensurate with his actual worth to the company would be a better solution.

The nation cannot continue with the imbalance of income now imposed on it by lax regulatory law. Our economy has suffered from the failure to equitably distribute the tax burden between corporations and those who run them and the rest of us.
