Dear Securities and Exchange Commission:

I am an investor in publicly traded companies ~ individual stock purchases, through my retirement plan and personal savings.

Please support, and enforce, the SEC’s proposal requiring companies to disclose the CEO-to-median worker pay ratio.  I understand this is required by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Pay ratio disclosure will inform investors, like myself, when evaluating CEO pay levels and when voting on executive compensation matters. The ratio of the CEO-to-worker pay is a valuable metric for investors, because it places CEO pay levels into a broad perspective.  For example, high CEO-to-worker pay ratios has a negative impact on employee morale and, therefore, productivity.  Pay ratio disclosure will therefore help investors understand their company’s overall compensation for and its treatment of its employees.

Sincerely,

Peter Linton
