I have long believed and long promoted this rule. The inflation of CEO pay in relationship to median corporate salaries has grown astronomically and without justification.
While the exact number is not critical, calculating a number
and making it public is. I do not believe that CEO's are
demi-gods, nor are they to be paid at the expense of their
fellow associates and workers. Rewarded yes but not fawningly enriched at the expense of their fellow workers and investors.
Boards of Directors work for the investors and all the stakeholders of the corporation, not as sycophants of the CEO.
