Comment: I feel that it is vital that all companies that request and maintain any personally identifiable information of their customers to protect that information from leaking into the wrong hands. In today?s technology driven world it is easier than ever for anyone to acquire and exploit someone?s identity and cause severe financial problems. Any regulation that is in place to protect America's consumers from attack is vital and the US government should do whatever is in their power to hold companies accountable for protecting their customers. The implementation of an "Identity Theft Red Flag Program" for financial institutions would be a welcome addition to the protection of potential victims of identity theft.
