I have sent a comment to SEC regarding the pledging of my securities by other investors when they are buying or selling stocks they do not own. I think a consumer who has an account at Schwab or Ira or Pension should have to affirm they are willing to have their securities pledged rather than just assume it is alright. I think it has a negative impact on my financial assets during a volatile market and can cause a negative impact on my assets to let people borrow them to bet against me. Although my interest may be small, when you add them up it can be detrimental to my financial interest. I think it would reduce volatility if they had to buy their own, rather than borrow my interests.
