Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

Note: My original comments added.

Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

Unregulated Capitalism is unavoidably anti-democratic and and those who practice it will relentlessly work to diminish democratic practices whenever and wherever they can. Systems of Free Enterprise and Free Market Practices will always suffer the abuse of those in control at the expense of the public. Reasonable regulation from the public sector is essential for maintaining a fair and just society.

I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Ted Viens
