I am writing in support of petition #4-637, where the SEC will issue a rule requiring publicly-traded companies to disclose all political spending.
Both shareholders and the public should be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Public information about the political spending of publicly-traded companies is good for both a healthy, functioning democracy as well as economy.
