Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
The intersection of business and government must be transparent. Opacity breeds mistrust and resentment--even skepticism of Democracy.
How many more people would agree that "the fix is in for special interests" today than two years ago? I haven't seen such a study, but its results would likely be telling. But we needn't actually ask in order to decide that such a perception is corrosive to society. The current system produces at least the appearance of corruption.
