To Whom It May Concern:

I am deeply concerned about the influence of money on our electoral process.

I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending. Public is public. Every other aspect of a public corporation’s finances is subject to disclosure. For them to say that they want to hide this particular aspect of their spending is, quite frankly, rather sleazy.

Company shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much a corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC’s web site.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Cordially,

Lorraine H. Franz
