SEC

I am deeply concerned about the influence of corporate money on our electoral process.

In my opinion, the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission diluted my influence as a citizen to participate in the democratic process and represents a severe conflict of interest that will worsen as income inequality grows.

In an effort to try to promote more transparency and equality within our system and country, I agree with the proposed idea that the Securities and Exchange Commission should work to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.  Doing so will empower the public and makes sense to me.

Please do anything you can to support any initiatives to tip the scale back toward the average citizen, and away from corporate influence with regard to election funding and spending.  While I can appreciate that it costs money to run an election, I think allowing corporations so much clandestine influence is a bad thing.

Have a great day and thank you!
Brendan

Thank you for considering my comment.
