Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
It's time to use some common sense here and return to the true meaning of democracy. Democracy is a government in which the power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation.. Coorporations are NOT the people and they are overshadowing the peoples' voice. I am not comfortable with that. Please - I am asking you to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.
We need to be informed as to how much corporations spend on politics, and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,Nancy Jean Spearman
