Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
The ruling on Citizens United v. FEC has made the political landscape a nightmare for the average citizen. It's turned Congress into sludge by ensuring that constant funding of political campaigns is now sometimes more important than being engaged in the process of shaping the direction of the country; politicians now have to eschew governmental meetings in order to campaign if they want to stay in office. Now that money is essentially an unlimited supply weapon against a politician, primary challenges are now the bombs used to try to torpedo a Congressman. This is thanks to the Citizens United ruling.
The new rule requiring disclosure of donors to publicly funded corporations, which is simply a good idea in the first place, has now become necessary to return the political playing field to some state of normalcy. Please, we need this rule to become reality!
