Dear Most Honorable Ms. Murphy:
We write in support of the petition by the Committee on Disclosure of Corporate Political Spending, File Number 4-637.
We take into account in our own investment decisions the activities by the public companies whose shares we purchase. Regulations that require corporations to disclose their spending on political activities will make it easier for us to invest and vote responsibly. Arguably, reporting should include contributions to all Federal and State candidates, PACs (527 groups) , 501(c)4 groups, or any other organizations that support or opposes candidates or political issues.
