Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
I am outraged by and strongly disagree with the decision in U.S. v. Citizens United. I believe the only way to prevent its disastrous effect on our elections and democracy is for it to be legislated out of existence, which I hope Congress will soon do.
For the moment, at the very least, let that spending be public knowledge, so that consumers can vote with their wallets and spend their money in ways that support their beliefs and values.
I urge the SEC to issue a rule that would require publicly traded corporations to fully and publicly disclose any political spending activities.
Thank you for your consideration from this individual citizen.
