One way or another, the US needs to push business money out of election campaigns. The SEC can help with this by requiring publicly traded companies to disclose their spending. One could even go further and require them to get permission from a majority of the shareholders. Publicly traded companies are an important part of the problem, and since the SEC is in a position to address that part, it must try its best.
