Anonymous political donations are a huge component in our corrupt political system.
By publicly disclosing political spending you allow the money that politicians receive to be traced much more easily. It is important for the public to know where politicians get their money because an accepted donation is often a conflict of interests.
Even if you might not be able to prove shady back door political dealings, transparency at least might keep politicians from doing shady things in the first place.
It keeps everyone a little more honest. Honesty is what we need most in American politics today.
