Securities and Exchange Comm.

Dear Securities and Exchange Comm.,

The 2012 General Election illustrated the devastating corrupting effects of the disastrous Supreme Court Citizen’s United decision. For the sake of the future of our democracy, I urge the commission’s prompt approval of rules requiring public disclosure of political spending by publicly-held companies. As a shareholder in many companies I strongly object to their BODs being able to bribe politicians without my approval or even knowledge of where the money (mine) is going. We shareholders have a fundamental right to know when a company is spending money influencing politicians. Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Patrick W. Trown
