The government may believe that this will help and be the right course of action...but it isn't even close So many registered reps are gonna be sued by clients for things out of their control later on down the road. This is a slippery slope.
Right now if people want to work with a fiduciary they can find one, and that is their choice. I'm a ficuciary but don't believe that everybody in this industry should be forced to be one. Most of non-fiduciary reps that do the right thing for the client all the time.
