The suitability standards governing broker-dealers is good RIGHT where it is - DO NOT "throw the baby out with the bathwater". All/Most studies have shown that commision based selling is on par or exceeds any/all fee-based advice. The vast majority of us advisers are doing right by our clients under the current self-imposed and ethically backed industry standards. No more interference, it will only be added expense and headaches to the ultimate client
