That you are taking comments on this issue begs the question, why can you not come to the conclusion that holding the clients interest first is in everyone's best interest? You cannot see this, but instead require comments?

Consistent and shameful abuse of the average investor should be obvious and reason enough to impose a fiduciary standard.

By what moral standard can this not be clear?
