I have been in the insurance business since 1987 and a registered representative since 2001. Back in 1987 I saw little regulation and anyone with little qualification jump on the insurance bandwagon and sell insurance. Over the years adequate regulation weeded out most unethical, and uneducated agents. The Registered reps I see today take their occupation very seriously. It takes a lot knowledge and results to maintain client relationships. In my particular situation I work with many clients that bigger companies do not want. It is not uncommon for many clients to only invest $50 to $100 per month. I do not make much but it is a service. If I don't perform this service, who will?

The bottom line is more regulations are only going to discourage good registered reps like myself and in the long run it hurts the very people the regulations are trying to protect. I believe the SEC can adequately protect comsumers by enforcing current laws.

Thank you,
