I definitely think better information about the role and responsibilities of brokers bs. Advisors would be immensely helpful. In the real estate world, a few years ago all agents started having to get all clients to read & sign a document explaining agency, I consider this similar. I have no clue what the differences are and what makes one better than other. Even more, I want to know how they are compensated for helping me. That will enable me to factor that info into my analysis of any investment suggestion.
