In my opinion, broker-dealers and financial advisors should all be held to the same standard-namely, working in the best interest of their clients. I was not even aware that broker-dealers might be working in their own best interest rather than mine. If nothing else, all of these people should be required to inform clients about exactly in what manner and in what amount they receive compensation.
