As a financial advisor I am most often acting in the capacity as the trustee for my clients. The fiduciary standard of care and having my actions measured by putting the client first is required of a trustee as it relates to providing financial advice to my clients. In my world as a trustee, this high standard of care is expected. I strongly support all financial advisors, even those who are not acting in the capacity of a trustee, to be held to a high fiduciary standard when offering investment advice.
