Insurance agents are regulated enough under existing state standards. We don't need any additional standards imposed at the Federal level, especially by the SEC which cannot effectively regulate under its existing authority. One need look no further than the Madoff scandal and the porn viewing scandal to see how ineffective the SEC already is.
Let state regulators continue to do the effective job they are already doing. Agents are already trained to comply with the standards they promulgate and don't need another layer of inneffective bureauocracy to confuse the process.
