I have been in the insurance and securities business for approx 26 years and the level of regulation and requirements has driven many good representatives of the industry to leave. I have seen a rise in the need of advisors especially in these difficult times. The current regulation being proposed will drive many more advisors out of the business especially those who are seasoned at older ages. This is not what we need. I believe the answer to the problems is to enforce the regulations that are already in place and ferrot out those who have a record ongoing, of breaking those regulations. The time will come were there will need to be regulators checking the regulators if the burden of over regulation is not halted.
Lets stop this madness and use common sense to guide us and not more laws. These laws are only attempts to get the bad guys to abide by the rules and laws. The good guy already does this. Your proposal will become a burden misplaced with the wrong results. Please stop this proposal.
