The abuses over the years by insurance companies and their Registered Reps have been so horrendous that the strongest level of oversight and fiduriary responsibility should be imposed by the SEC. This is the only way to control those who would take advantage of those with little knowledge of financial products.
This comes from one who has worked as a licensed insurance agent and Registered Representative for the past 55 years.
