I found that avaliable information about companies and mutal funds is more important than a financial advisor. The few time I did have a financial advisor, I ended up spending more on fees than I did on investing. When I had a financial advisor, I was not informed of the fees and penalties that were included with my investment. In order to find out about the charges I had to read the fine print.
