I received careless and bad advice from both brokerages I relied upon, Merrill Lynch and Charles Schwab. Managers were not informative and had little concern other than to tout bad investments. Even recently, after I requested safe investments to protect savings, I was directed to funds that allowed up to 100% equity investments and wasn't told. The manager seemed surprised that they had almost that percentage invested when a large amount was lost. I no longer trust any brokerage or manager and have taken complete control myself.
