A fiduciary standard is a must for the American consumer. Who would want to work with a "financial advisor" who is not willing to make the simple statement "I will work in my clients best interest at all times"? Financial services should be a true profession. We'll never get there without taking on fiduciary responsibilities. Most of the so-called disclosure forms we put in front of a client/ potential client to sign protect the advisor more so than the client. The burden of responsibility should be on us.
