The current regulations and standards of care are more than sufficient in protecting consumers. The burden is already enormous. Broker-dealers already supervise their investment advisors adequately to protect the consumers. More regulation will not effectively keep the few law breakers from breaking new laws.
Enforcement of current regulations is what is needed, not more regulation.
