These are comments in regards to a petition for rulemaking change.

I've heard about the move to ease regulations on projects taking only small amounts of money from many small investors ("crowdfunding"), and I think it's a great idea.

The risk to each investor is small since dollar amounts are small, but the project gets funded by getting lots of supporters. Each small investment is a "vote" for the idea. Enough votes and the idea becomes real, and a good idea can become a financial success for those who supported it. Democracy plus innovation-- what could be more American?
