I am in support of reinstituting the uptick rule. Opportunities to short the market are intrinsically against the investment for the long term and making educated decisions on assest allocation. Without these protections the US market is reduced to a gambling casino.
The current situation have ruined my mothers accounts as a retiree and college bound young adults wiping out years of earnings based on prudent and patient investing.
