Please consider this as one investorís plea for the SEC adopting a sane approach to stock symbols. Stock symbols, like telephone numbers, should be the property of the corporation they identify and therefore portable as a corporationís stock listing moves from exchange to exchange. There is no reason to believe a particular exchange enjoys an ownership interest or right in a corporationís stock symbol. Also, the investing public would be better served by a stock symbol system that allowed a corporation to move across stock exchanges with a consistent symbolic identity. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
