I am writing in support of the NASDAQ-sponsored proposal on portability of ticker symbols, and specifically to discourage your adoption of the NYSE-sponsored proposal. My support for the NASDAQ proposal and opposition to the NYSE proposal is based upon the inherent fairness and reasonableness of the NASDAQ proposal as compared with the NYSE version. While my company has no plans that would cause one or the other proposal to benefit us, the sense of equity and fairness with which the US capital markets function would seem to be at odds with the NYSE proposal.
