As an investor, I would appreciate the ability to trade on an exchange that doesn't sell the right to information and access that I am not aware of to organizations that can afford it. I acknowledge my understanding of the HFT market is relatively shallow, however I fail to see why IEX should have such a hard time being approved other than because of vested interests putting their full weight on the other side of the rope. As an American, as well as a capitalist, I would hate to see the SEC fail to allow a free-market solution to manage a problem that should have been solved by the same organization in the first place.
