P. Brian Crane

Assistant Inspector General for Investigations

Mr. Crane is the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Office of Inspector General (OIG). In this capacity he is responsible for supervising and directing SEC OIG investigations in a thorough and objective manner.

Mr. Crane began his law enforcement and security career in 1984. His experience includes 12 years with local police departments in Alabama, over 6 years as a special agent with the U.S. Secret Service, and a stint in the private sector as a Global Security Executive. Mr. Crane was also a member of the Senior Executive Service for over six years and was a recipient of a Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service. He has held increasingly responsible positions in the law enforcement community with the Department of the Treasury, Office of Inspector General; Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration; and the Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Crane received his Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State College.
