Vale reports a breach to the Feijão Mine dam in Brumadinho (MG)
Rio de Janeiro, January 25th, 2019 — Vale is reporting that there has been a breach to the Feijão Mine in Brumadinho (MG), which occurred earlier this afternoon. The first information indicates that the tailings have reached the company’s administrative area and part of the Vila Ferteco community. There is still no confirmation of any injuries. Vale has contacted the Fire Department and activated its Emergency Dam Response Plan.
Vale’s main priority at this time is to preserve and protect the lives of the employees and members of the community.
The company will continue to provide information as soon as they are confirmed.
