Vale announces the Executive Officer of Business Support
Rio de Janeiro, July 26th, 2017 — Vale S.A. (Vale) announces that Alexandre Pereira was appointed as Executive Officer of Business Support. This position encompasses the following areas: Information Technology, Procurement, Energy, Operational Improvement and Capital Projects.
Alexandre has held the position of Global Director of Information Technology (IT) at Vale since 2011 and was responsible for IT in all lines of business in which Vale operates. He started his career as a trainee in Brazil in 1992, he has worked as IT Director for Vale’s Base Metals business and Global Director of IT Services.
Alexandre holds a degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from UERJ. He holds post-graduate degrees in Business Management from Fundação Dom Cabral and in Computer Networks from UFES, as well as an MBA in Business from USP. In addition, he completed senior leadership programs at institutions such as MIT (Boston) and IMD (Switzerland).
